Bowling Centres to reopen

On Thursday, the province will enter Stage 2 of the ‘Open for Summer’ plan, two weeks after 60 per cent of Albertans 12 and over have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and hospitalizations are below 500.

That means that bowling centres will be,

  • allowed to reopen with 1/3 of fire code occupancy.
  • food service can resume with 6 people per table maximum, indoors and outdoors.
  • Indoor masking and distancing requirements remain in place throughout Stage 2.

The Alberta 5 Pin Bowler’s Association encourages our bowlers to support our centres that have been closed since last November as a show of support for our proprietors and the local economy.

We recommend you look up your local centre and book a lane a few times over the summer, then we can get back to league play in the fall.

If you haven’t received your vaccine shot yet, A5 encourages those who are able, to do so at their earliest convenience.  And remember you need both doses to ensure maximum protection for yourself and others.

The next reopening stage is expected to take effect two weeks after 70 per cent of Albertans 12 and up have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. As of Wednesday, 67.2 per cent of Albertans in this category had one dose, and 15.7 per cent had two.
